Johnson String Instrument is dedicated to serving the needs of string players throughout the South Shore. Like our store in Newton, MA (celebrating its 30th anniversary), we carry instruments (both high-quality rentals and sales), strings, accessories, sheet music, and much more. JSI also hosts frequent "petting zoos", a chance for aspiring musicians to try out stringed instruments and receive mini-lessons from the JSI staff. JSI is also prized in the community as a concert venue. Musicians such as Grammy-award winning cellist Eugene Friesen, Peabody Conservatory Professor Amit Peled, the Cape-based ensemble Passacaglia, Flamenco dancer Kati Garcia-Renart, and many others have taken advantage of the shop's intimate and welcoming atmosphere.
