Plein Air Painting Workshop with Robert Abele

Painting out in the open air is one of the most exciting & rewarding experiences for an artist. Robert has been working plein-air for over 25 years and has come up with a very successful system for getting winning results.Robert begins classes with a demo and discussion about materials and his method of working. Then, students will spend the afternoon working on their paintings while he visits and advises on their process. Some of the topics covered are choosing a subject, composition, color harmony and draftsmanship. There is a strong emphasis on posture, proper equipment, a good planned strategy, and having the correct supplies.

•Lunch break on own for participants (Magnolia Café will be open for purchasing lunch or students may bring their own)
•5 students minimum, 15 students maximum
•Participants are required to being their own materials, a supply list will be provided upon registration

About Robert Abele:
Robert Abele was born in Bronxville, New York, in 1969. He attended the School of Visual Arts, graduating in 1993, where he earned his BFA. Robert has had numerous exhibitions and his work has been published in the New York Times, The Washington Post, and many other notable publications. Robert has been represented by the Helen Addison Gallery in Orleans, MA, for the past 4 years. Currently, Robert is attending the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he will receive his MFA in the spring of 2018.
