Schola Cantorum of Falmouth

Oliver Muldoon
Address: 91 Comanche Dr., ,

We're an ensemble of 12-16 singers singing SATB music, primarily for the fun of it. Amateurs in the true sense of the word, our singers come from a wide range of background: students, scientists, parents, and retirees. Members have included singers from such far-flung places as Croatia, Finland, Germany, Holland, Ireland, the Philippines and Woods Hole.

We present two concert programs each year. Our autumn concerts fall around the feastday of St. Cecilia, patron saint of music (November 22nd). Our spring concerts occur during May.

From time to time, we also perform at special events. Although Bach's music is a bit "late" for us, we performed as part of a 2003 Bach cantata workshop in Falmouth under the baton of the well-known English chorus master, organist and composer, Peter Lea-Cox. We look forward to future team-ups with Mr. Lea-Cox, whose schedule now permits more lengthy stays in the US.

We're always looking for talented singers! New singers are asked to commit to a semi-season at a time: fall and/or spring. We rehearse weekly in Falmouth Village during September-May, and are prepared to make special arrangements for strong sight-readers whose schedule may not permit optimal rehearsal attendance.
