Davidson Calfee

Address: 23 Asa Meiggs Road, ,

Davidson O. Calfee has been a great artist since the beginning, most likely stemming from his Great Uncle, William F. Draper, the notable American Portrait artist. Early influences and good genes fuel Davidson's creativity and use of color, form and space to create distinctive works of art.

Davidson's first artistic award was for a political cartoon that he drew at the age of twelve that won first place in a Falmouth Enterprise Student Contest. Davidson was selected into the prestigious National Art Honor Society at the Falmouth High School. He continued to win awards in competition with his classmates and won a showing at the Boston Museum of Art at the age of 17 for his Japanese Mountainside with pen & ink on silk.

You can really visualize and feel Davidson's passion from viewing these oil paintings. Some major New Orleans Art Galleries were viewing his work before Hurricane Katrina took most of his artwork and belongings from his prior home in Biloxi, Mississippi. His sorrow for the destruction that took place to his home, his friends and neighbors can really be depicted in such works as "The Calm before the Storm," that was painted 2 years ago in Biloxi before Katrina hit.

Please visit and see for yourself in person these beautiful works of art that can be great conversation starters in your own home. Davidson can also customize with colors and form to match your new home!
