Painting for Everyone

Wednesdays 1:00 to 3:00 pm and Saturdays 12:00 to 2:00 pm
Ongoing 6 week session
Fee: $100 per 6 week session or $20 per walk-in class

One of our most popular classes, Painting for Everyone focuses on each student as an individual artist, their goals and ability level. Beginners and intermediate levels and all media welcome.
Life Drawing
Instructor: James Wolf
Ages: Adults
Wednesdays 7:30 to 9:30 pm, Fridays 1:30-3:30
Fee: $15 per class, 4 class minimum, prepayment required

Life drawing class introduces the artist to figurative drawing by combining academic training with the development of personal style. Working from a live, nude model, the students will be exposed to a variety of media as they explore some of the many different approaches to depicting the human form.

Holistic Dance Exercise For Teens and Adults begins on Wednesdays in January. at Mary French Dance Studio in Cataumet Geordie Holmes of the Dance Vision Festival is offering an 8 week holistic dance exercise series beginning Wednesday, January 17, 2007 and going through March 7,2007 The classes are an invitation to reflect and renew during the winter months. Using simple yet fulfilling dance movement and slow gentle stretches with breath exercises, each holistic class will finish with a guided meditation. Geordie accepts that holistic or mind body spirit health can be nourished with regular movements of the whole body with a strong connection to the breath. People, when exercising can find compassion for themselves, opening towards ease and non judgement allowing balance to be present. These classes will be open to anyone who wishes to attend. People with chronic health issues or weight issues are encouraged to inquire as well as are teens and seniors. There will be 2 one hour sessions back to back on Wednesdays , the first from 4:30pm to 5:30pm and the second from 5:30pm to 6:30pm . An early morning session may be added on Wednesdays later in the New Year . Call 508-495-3311 to register and for further information .The fee is $65 for 8 weeks or $10 for a single class. People bringing a friend will receive a discount . The Mary French Dance Studio is located on County Road in Cataumet at the intersection of Route 28A, one mile north of the North Falmouth Post Office. Geordie is available as a private holistic exercise coach and can develope and mentor a personalized exercise practice for individuals. She is a co-catalyst with her husband , Steven Malkus, in the Dance Vision Festival, an ongoing project to build community spirit through creative circle gatherings. She works with seniors at Atria Woodbriar in Falmouth , is also a certified meditation teacher and has experience in chi gung exercises as well as with a gentle form of power walking .

Music at the Mansion: The Art of the Cello

The Art of the Cello, a Music in the Mansion chamber music performance, will be Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 4:00 pm.

Bo Ericsson will be the featured cellist. Along with Robert Wyatt, pianist, Ericsson will present a trio of sonatas composed for cello and piano. The delightful “Arpeggione Sonata” by Franz Schubert will be included along with the enigmatic sonata of Claude Debussy and an early and rarely heard work of American composer, Samuel Barber.
