On a lonely, isolated estate, an inexperienced governess, left to raise two small orphans, sees specters of the children's former governess and her lover--both dead--and fights them for the children's innocent souls. Jeffery Hatcher's taut, exciting adaptation cuts to the heart of Henry James' story.
