Falmouth Chorale
Scholarship Open
to Upper Cape Music Students
Falmouth
Chorale invites applications for the 2010 Frederick Johnson Music
Scholarship.
As part of its mission to promote music and support talented young
musicians in
the Upper Cape area, in 2008 the Chorale initiated a Scholarship
program for
music students from the towns of Falmouth, Bourne, Mashpee, and
Sandwich.
This
$1,000 award is named for Frederick Johnson, and honors the 17 years Mr. Johnson
served
as the Chorale director. The Scholarship is intended for graduates from
the
four Upper Cape High Schools and residents from the four towns who are
pursuing
a college degree in music and performance.
The Chorale considers this
Scholarship
a way to support the fine musical activities of the area and to aid
young
musicians in their academic careers. Patrons and friends of the Chorale
are encouraged
to contribute to the Scholarship fund and to share information about
the
scholarship with students.
High
School seniors and college students may obtain an application for the
Falmouth
Chorale Frederick Johnson Music Scholarship from their High School
Guidance
Departments or they may call 774 392-2383 for additional information
and
applications. The deadline for submitting applications is April 15.
